Tomorrow is Nov. 30, marking the last day of November and the last day of NaNoWriMo 2014.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out www.nanowrimo.org.
I didn’t participate this year, but I did try this challenge a few years ago. Unfortunately, I didn’t get very far in the goal word count, but I did discover that it is terribly hard work. NaNoWriMo requires successful participants to write, and write, and write. It focuses on quantity instead of quality, which can be a great way to get a first draft.
I’m wondering how it has gone for you that have participated…
Have you reached the goal word count of 50,000? If not, how far did you get?
If you got to 50,000 words, how did you do it? Did you have a good support group or a rigid schedule? Or just a lot of caffeine?
Are you proud of your novel? Do you plan to edit and revise it and then try to get it published?
